Hunter Sand and Gravel was honored with 4 awards in March of 2012. Ledbetter Dredge V received the “flying brick” with a 0 etched on the brick in recognition of a no-MSHA citation year in 2012. Hunter Sand and Gravel is the first to ever receive this award, since it’s establishment in 2010. Henderson Dredge III and Ledbetter Dredge IV received certificates for the accrual of 45,519 combined man-hours without a lost time injury during 2011. Robert Stone with Hunter Sand and Gravel was honored for 42 years in the industry without a lost-time incident by MSHA in Birmingham. Of the 550 miners in attendance, only 14 other individuals received the same honor.
